Year End Performance Review for the Manager

As the year-end approaches and managers begin to think about what happened during the year and what improvements can be made, give some serious though to working on delegation skills and techniques.  Managers would well advised to review important projects and assignments and think hard about what could be done better.

As a starting pint, consider how the team performed in the following areas:

  • Timely completion of tasks?
  • Teamwork?
  • Communications?
  • Skills improvement?
  • Sense of Urgency?
  • Problem solving?

The Key | Improve One Skill at a TIme

There are many other key factors and each manager can add items to the list.  The important point here is that too many managers look for some magic bullet to solve all the productivity issues.  It’s really all about improving one factor at a time.  Pick one or two areas for improvement.  Get the team together and brainstorm ideas.  Pinpoint any training issues for these areas.  commit to really get better at one or two and the results will absolutely start to come.
