Clear Delegation Assignments

In our last Blog on Visual Delegation, we discussed the importance of giving your employees clear assignments in a way that they can visualize what you need them to get done.  There are several key techniques that will help a manager to make Visual Delegation a workable reality.  First, the manager must Visualize the assignment themselves in order to capture a clear picture they can communicate.

In visualizing an assignment or task for delegation, think about the following; What will the successfully completed assignment look like when finished?  What tools or resources will be needed and what does their use look like when being executed? What does the “quality” need to be and what does that look like?  What is the assignment timeline and what does that look like as the assignment and due date unfold?  What obstacles or roadblocks may get in the way and what do they look like?  Now…delegate the assignment with these visuals in the communication.
