A key management and leadership skill is to delegate work “effectively”.  This seems so basic…’sure, as a manage I need to delegate assignments effectively.’  That said, what is almost always over-looked is exactly what is meant by “effectively”.  That is where the process of delegation often breaks down.  Too many managers have responsibility to delegate and to do so effectively but really don’t do it effectively.

There are a number of very important skills and techniques required to meet the test of effective delegation.  Among the very most important are delegating through the eyes of your employees.  So much time is wasted and performance of the team suffers because of misunderstandings of what is expected.  Every employee is different and a successful manager has to understand those differences when making work assignments.
