Managers Need to Be Transparent With the Business Unit

When delegating assignments and seeking delegation confirmation, having developed an open and trusting relationship is one of the keys.  If your employees feel comfortable in their relationship with you as their manager, and trust exists, they are much more likely to be open.  Why is this so important.  Assignments that are complex or important need to be adequately confirmed with the employee.  You do not want an employee to hold back openly expressing their questions or concerns.

Watch for non-verbal communications that might reveal a concern on the part of the employee.  The Manager can not hesitate to question more deeply the employees understanding and acceptance of what has been asked.  It the Manager can uncover any issues or concerns up-front, they can provide guidance or coaching before the assignments becomes and issue.
